Gods and Goddesses. You’ve all heard of them. Their reign over the impressionable minds of the Grecian people lasted for centuries; every story seemed more elaborate than the one before it. The stories told about them were woven into tapestries, painted on walls, molded into statues, and depicted in novels. A legacy that couldn’t waiver. And yet, as time passed, the Greeks began to bore the Gods…Something they never thought would happen, and yet, there it was staring them in the face. Mortals were just such a hassle.
So they made a deal. They would step back until the moons of Jupiter aligned with Earth’s sole moon creating a mass Lunar Equinox. As the Deities faded from sight and Pagan ritual became a thing of the past, mortals went about their lives without so much as a second thought concerning the once all powerful beings. But when the time steadily approached, some of them became restless. Inner kingdom battles broke out between the rulers, pitting them against each other and they soon engaged the other kingdoms in as well. It was bound to happen. The Gods and Goddesses shaped mortals like themselves; anyone who knew the history of mankind could have preempted the virtual Civil War.
The battle has begun a mere month before the Equinox of the year 2009. The Earth is their battlefield. What better place to duke it out than seemingly neutral ground? It’s perfect.
Mortals do not know of their existence on land yet, nor do they know that they patrol around in human form gathering followers should one of their plans go wrong and they need sacrifices.
Besides…Deities play dirty; everyone should have seen this coming.
