The land was bathed in blood red fire as the sun sunk behind the peak of a tall black mountain, it’s golden glow leaving no light. The sky lost all it’s colors, and the world around seemed shadowed in darkness. Upon a hill, where a draping willow tree hung in the gloom, cunning eyes glittered stealthily. The creature was just barely outlined enough to see the form, but there was no need to at all. Soon enough, many would know. It rose it’s head to the heavens, neck and throat hairs quivering with power before it could not longer hold it in anymore. Maw opening, a sound so mysterious and musical came out, that no melody could match the beauty of these soulful notes. It rose, higher and higher into the sharp cold air, fog coming from it’s mouth and blowing around. Then, down it came, lower and lower, until it stopped to pause for a moment just in time for a moon to come out, illuminating the world once more. Then again, it sung the majestic words, and it seemed as if each magical moment a star came out to shine.
At long last, the velvetine world above was dotted with diamonds so precious, no being but the Gods themselves could touch them, hold them in their hands and teach the world of the treasure they shared. They all saw it everyday, they all knew it was there every moment, but did they care? Perhaps not some, or at least they were not aware of it. For now though, we will stop at that tale, and go back to the one that has already started.
The beast (or beauty as we may call her), as if satisfied, let her voice get quiet and soft, until it was reduced to nothing but her breath, and the echo that still hung in the air. As you may or may not have guessed, it was a wolf who had summoned the jewel patterns above. And a fine one, at that. It had a look of youth yet experience and leadership on her face, and possessed an ancient feeling of freedom and looked like the perfect picture of the wild. The symbol in all it’s glory. The coat of the alpha female, as we now know her as, was as white as a fresh blanket of glittering snow, with beautiful tinges of silver-blue here and there. Her eyes were like two small pools of liquid gold held in a perfectly sized container. It was time for her pack to hunt, but this time, it was not food, prey or territory they were hunting.
It was time to battle; to fight. Many lone wolves had been wandering the area, and eventually they have formed a small pack, and upon being foolish they had started to trespass frequently. They needed to be put in their place, and now was as good as a time as ever to do exactly that. As if on some silent signal, they all raced forward together as if one being. They were silent, swift and deadly. The leader, who is our star character, perked her ears forward to listen and tune in on everything, senses alert and instincts intact. Glowing optics all peered ahead, watching and waiting, nervous yet eager. The stopped on a ridge, looking over the messy pack below. The enemy.
They were numerous and definitely survivors, which means they would probably be very hardy and have much endurance. Perhaps it would be a challenge to take them down after all. But nevertheless, if the Alphess could dominate over their leader, then she and her pack would win and triumph. If she lost though, she didn’t want to think of the consequences that might befall her. It would take wit, strength, smarts and agility to win this match, she could already estimate. Luckily, she had all those character traits in her regal blood. The Queen padded forward, growling and laying back her ears in anger, threatening them with sharp commands and snaps of her jaw. Immediately, most backed down all but the leader who stood up, doing the same.
It was rare for wolves to spill blood from one another, but this might be an exception afterall. Her eyes widened in disbelief and defiance. How dare this carrion-filth stand up against her advances? She would teach him a lesson he would sure to never forget. With a snarl, her lips curled to show gleaming fangs, and her hair fluffed in dominance. As if a mirror image, the other copied her. She made one last warning, and when the other denied, she leaped. Claws outstretched, teeth ready to rip flesh, fur bristling with hostility; she was a beautiful demon.
I leave you at her mercy.
Is it an Intro or Post: Not really a post or intro. More like short story.
Average post length: It varies. Smallest is a single paragraph, largest a 6 paragraph or more. Depends on what I'm roleplaying, my mood, and what the other person is like.
