Roleplay Sample: The carriage, pulled by two elegant black horses, lurched to an abrupt stop. The driver stepped down from his position and moved to open the door of the carriage, revealing the plush red velvet inside before a tall, thin young man stepped out, brown hair falling elegantly over the black mask that concealed much of his pale skin. Brown eyes turned to look back inside the carriage, a hand reaching out to the young woman still inside. A light pearly glove emerged from the depths of the carriage, taking the proffered hand of the young man, just as a young woman stepped down beside him, rich chocolate curls falling elegantly over her deeply tanned, bare back and shoulders. The other hand reached up to adjust the pearly white mask that curled slightly at the tip; it looked like the mask had been cut in half, covering only one eye. Turning bright, intoxicatingly golden eyes that were decorated with black and gold makeup up to look at her brother, a smile flickered across the dainty pink lips, and the young man smiled in return, flashing brilliant white teeth. He let go of his sister's hand gently. Bain offered his arm instead, the sleeve of his black jacket rising a few centimeters on his long arm. Namine took it graciously, and, with a gentle flick of her head, tossed the curls back into place over her shoulder. Brother and sister, part of the Scottish nobility. Their parents had informed them that they "had more pressing matters to attend to than to go to a ball." Which, in short, meant they wanted the siblings out of the house. Both Bain and Namine knew that this was with the hopes that the two would finally get married and perhaps continue the noble line. Bain was twenty-one, after all, and Namine was halfway to twenty. Their parents refused to be disgraced by unmarried and renegade children. Whilst the two did not defy the wishes, per se, they did not wish to settle down with the first unmarried being that meandered aimlessly down the road. A deep ebony, silk shirt rested on Bain's muscled torso, which added a light hue to the paleness of his skin. This shirt matched his sister's elegant dress, which he was quite certain was rather heavy. The dress and gloves were made entirely out of pearly white silk and creme thread, hugging her thin waist and flowing elegantly out to past her ankles from the hips. It wasn't as heavy as one would expect, though it did carry a bit of weight to it. The two entered together, looking around with matching golden and brown eyes. Expertly, Bain's long-fingered hand reached out and plucked a glass of some dark substance from a passing tray. Namine politely declined anything for the moment, instead taking to watching the people milling around, flitting from person to person. She didn't know anyone exclusively, but she still smiled graciously as several people came up to say hello, pumping her brother's hand vigorously. This tradition was something that carried on even at home. The man—or perhaps the man's wife—would inquire as to the whereabouts of their parents, and Bain would patiently explain that the two had had another engagement and had told the siblings to go without them. After said people left, however, Bain would complain to Namine about how it was the same thing every time and didn't the people comprehend that their parents had better things to do with their time? Once the last hand-shaker was out of earshot, Bain bent down to whisper something in his sister's ear. Namine responded with a giggle, a hand coming up to cover her mouth. Her brother winked at her as he straightened back up to his full height, his sister's head just barely clearing his shoulder. They supposed that they'd better mingle, and, with one glance from Bain, Namine followed her brother completely into the ballroom. The people were interesting to watch, Namine had decided long ago, and spent most of her time—when she wasn't putting on a very nice façade for the other nobles who had come up to talk with her—watching the others. Not many people tended to drift over to her; she wasn't like the girls her parents wanted her to be. She was not going to throw herself at men, just to make sure that she was married before nineteen. Namine preferred conversation or nothing. Bain would have no problem obtaining a wife, once he found the right woman, that is. He was certainly good-looking enough, and he had that charming smile that all men were expected to possess. And he was quite the ladies' man. It was the simple fact that the right young lady hadn't come along yet, and their parents were steadily becoming irritated with Bain's delaying. But he wouldn't just grab some lady from the court to be married. It had to feel right. The room fascinated Namine, her eyes roving around slowly, taking in the scenery. They were abruptly interrupted by yet another man that shook Bain's hand vigorously, clapped him on the shoulder, and then seized Namine's hand with slight gruffness. But she still managed a forced smile as he kissed her hand and meandered off. Intoxicated, no doubt. If this was how it was going to transpire, Namine felt that she and her brother were in for a long evening. Is it an Intro or Post: longest intro I have. xD Average post length: Two to three paragraphs.
