"Roll over! Roll over!"
Shaking a box of Milk Bones the goddess smiled. She stood by the great beast as it looked down at her curiously. The left head tilted over to the side, the other head's ears raised up, and the middle head just yarned. "Come on, roll over..." She was near begging now. Her cheeks puffed out and she put one hand upon her hip in an exasperated manner. He rolled over once a couple of days ago! Why wasn't he rolling over now?
"Come on, boys," She tapped her foot on the ground. Maybe if she did the hand signal she did before? She made a circle with her hand. "Come on! Roll over!" Cerberus sat down and she smacked herself on the forehead. "You great stupid beast, not sit, roll over," she laughed and crossed her arms as she looked up at him.
The middle head leaned forward and gave his mistress a big drool filled kiss. "Erk!" she cried out and pushed the large head back as she laughed ore. "No," she dragged out the word. "You're gonna get my clothes all wet!" Her nose crinkled as she looked down at her white dress and brown sandals. Extremely simple clothes for a simple goddess.
A hand went up to her mouth and she giggled as her plump lips graced her fingers. Persephone wiped the slobber off her and she sighed as her shoulders dropped. Rolling her eyes she pat each head so they wouldn't get jealous of each other. She didn't want what happened last time to happen again that was for sure!
Over the millennia and eons she made a bond with the dog. Sighing, the tiny goddess smiled as she gave him a pat and just gave the creature Milk Bones. Carrying the box with her she cried in a sing song tone, "Hey, boy let's go find Daddy!" Daddy being Hades and Mommy being Persephone.
"Yeah, let's go find Daddy." The left head nosed Persephone and pressed his cold wet nose along her back. She pat the creature and sighed as she looked back. "No, cold nose you're gonna get me wet again. Silly thing. Thin dark eyebrows knit together and she walked along side the River Styx with him. Knowing her Hades he would show up sooner or later.
The Spring Maiden knew that there were only a couple of months left and she woudl have to go back with her mother. Persephone loved her mother dearly she really did but it was just that...She was a grown woman not a child.
The right head felt neglected and it whined so Persephone turned around and hugged him. "Therethere, just calm down." Smiling, her lips curled into a smile as she asked, "Who loves Mommy?" Cerberus was becoming terribly spoiled by the goddess.
Persephone and Hades were a childless couple and Cerberus had became her child so to speak.

Despite the dwindling amount of time he had with his wife around, he couldn't break away from simple little things like his job of judging people. Deeming them fit or unfit for a certain part of his domain. Going around making sure that everything was in perfect order and that nothing was wrong with his nice little world. But the biggest and most important thing he could bring himself to stop doing was sleeping in.
Yes that had become his biggest weakness what with the mass amount of down time and all those awful days he actually had to spend without her. Which was exactly why he was slowly forcing himself out of his home. He had woken up at some odd hour he didn't care for, had went to work, watching soul after soul walk into his home. And then he had wandered around aimlessly, somehow managing to fit getting dressed into his busy schedule.
Not that that had mattered all that much. Really a pair of shorts, the occasional shirt. More than enough clothes to judge the dead in. Though today he was sporting nothing more than a pair of jeans and black shirt. Because despite what anyone may say about his style, he really did like dark colours. It made it easier to blend into the background of his home since no one paid attention to the god in all black playing with the giant dog. Which made him wonder where exactly the big lummox was.
Yes, Cerberus was a big dog that should be feared. Three heads, a snake for a tail, drool that could kill a normal man. What wasn't scary about the tales and legends of the foolish beast? Other than the fact that he acted like an over grown puppy and wasn't half as good of a guard dog as he was made out to be. There was the awful addiction to sweets and the fact that everyone seemed to know how to put him to sleep. Really, it seemed as though Cerbie was just for show some times.
Still he was Hades' dog and he loved little more than that foolish dog. That little more being none other than his wife. Running his hand through his undoubtedly messy hair, he made his way oout of his home, off in search to find the duo. Because if Cerbie wasn't pretending to guard the gates of the Underworld, he was with Persephone or Hades.
And after no small amount of wandering, he managed to find the two of them. "You know, he's supposed to guard the entrance." He said, as he petted his dog, not minding the licks he immediately got from the left and center head, the right one merely nudging him for something that he wasn't quite sure of yet. Giving the beast a simple hand gesture, Cerberus sat down, wagging its' tail.
Yes, he could get the dog to follow his every command with nothing more than a simple gesture. It came with time practice and a simple knowledge that the dog would do anything for a honeycake. Turning to Persephone, he smiled. " Now what have you been up to, my darling wife?" He questioned as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"It looks like Daddy's here," she scratched behind the left head's ear. "Are you going to be a good boy for your daddy?" She felt the right head move towards her and she kissed the nose which emitted a sneeze from the beast. "I'll take that as a yes." The middle head looked back towards Hades.
Persephone was happy to be there.
Never in her life before Hades would she believe that she could be happy with the god of the dead. The younger deity stroked along his fur with a smile humming to herself. The brunette girl glanced over her shoulder to see her husband. Lighting up immediately she heard her husband speak. Oh speak again sweet angel!
"I know but no one really comes to try to rescue the dead anymore," she replied dryly. As her husband came nearer her heart sped up happily. Persephone loved it when he was near. She was so sure that they acted like cute newlyweds over half the time. "The days of heroes have long since gone, dear, no one tries to rescue the dead. They don't believe anymore so they have no reason to come here."
Hades just made a hand movement and Cerberus sat. That was so unfair. "That's not fair," she whined childishly. "He doesn't listen to me." Batting her eyes at him she put her hands upon her hips and dropped the Milk Bone box which the right head swallowed whole.
Persephone pouted and she rolled her eyes in a huff. It wasn't that she was really upset with Cerberus it was just that he didn't listen to her as well as he listened to her husband. The brunette watched Hades meander towards her and she felt him wrap his arm around her waist.
The snuggle bunny, yes snuggle bunny, closed her eyes as she kissed him along the chin, his Adam's apple, his lower lip. She paused at his lower lip and gave it a tiny nibble. Not quite the answer that she knew Hades' expected but still. Her hands traveled over his arm and she leaned into him.
Dark hair was left down and it tumbled over her shoulders as she turned to face him. Her hands wrapped around him and she whispered gently, "I'm just here with Cerbie. I'm trying to get him to roll over."
The Spring Maiden sighed happily.

What he heard was nearly enough to make him groan. He didn't much like that somehow he his dog had become their child. Sure, he had spoiled the dog before he had ever met Persephone, treating the three headed animal pretty much like a child anyways. Still,it was somehow a lot different and more bothersome when she did it. Not that he ever gave more than a half hearted complaint about it.
"It doesn't matter. That's going to change once everything goes back to normal." He said, sounding a bit upset. Once those mortals knew about the Underworld again they would start to come down again. Which left him with the awful task of whipping his dog back into shape before that time came. Looking over to the dog, he frowned. Oh, how he hated the merest idea of that. Sighing he turned back to his wife and force up a smile. Best not to dwell on unpleasant things when he could be enjoying himself.
Oh it was rather hard to ignore her simple actions. Although he really didn't try. Instead he brushed some of her hair out of the way before he leaned down to kiss along the side of her neck, trailing his way up and along her jaw before finally kissing her on the lips. There wasn't one bit of care about the slight show he may have been putting on for the dead that filled the place.
Looking over that the dog, staring at them with all three heads, he frowned. "Roll over." And the lumbering beast did, sort of. Once Cerbie was on his back he started panting, expecting even more attention in the form of a good belly rub. After all, Persephone wasn't the only one who spoiled the poor thing. With a sigh, he glared at the dog, giving it a different gesture, watching as it completed the rather simple task.
"There. He rolled over." He stated simply, shooting the dog a dirty look, only to cause the dog to whine. Hades would willingly swear that the dog knew exactly what each and every one of his looks meant and knew how to act accordingly. It was a rather scary concept for him since he didn't like the idea of being used by his dog of all things.
Toying with Persephone's hair, he chuckled softly. Oh they were a sickeningly cute couple, he wasn't blind to that. But it was also hard not to be. With such short time spent together it was hard not to act like those maddening newlyweds he not so secretly despised. "So, now that he's rolle over, what do you want to do?"

"Oh," she frowned upon that. Her eyebrows knit together as she chewed upon her lower lip. Persephone would miss him when he would have to sit there and guard all day. Her cheeks puffed out as she thought about that. She crossed her arms and looked back to him as she shook her head. "I suppose that's true."
That would mean no sweaters for him! No sweaters because people would make fun of him because he'd be all wearing a frilly pink thing! Then they'd laugh at him. No one was laughing at her Cerberus! Nobody! SHe would turn them into plants and spices like that Mint...Meh...Eh nymph!
The young goddess looked up at him as she felt him kiss her. "Mmm..." she moaned softly to him as she closed her eyes and leaned into him. It was so nice. She loved the way that he felt against her. He was so warm. So...Her eyebrows knit together as she parted her plump lips into an "O" after he kissed her.
When Cerberus was ordered to roll over she smiled he was doing it! He was doing it! Then he stopped and she sighed as she shook her head and she shook her head. "See, he doesn't it," she stared at the beast that belly of his tempting her to just move forward and start to rub it.
However, a miracle! Letting out a gasp she clapped happily like a child and looked to her husband. "He rolled over!" She sounded like a mother who just told her husband their child took their first step. He rolled over! Glee filled her heart and spread through her small being.
As soon as he stopped she looked back to him and she cleared her throat. "Oh, well..." She could think of a couple of things! Batting her eyelashes at him she said after a moment, "Well, you could walk with me...Or maybe we could talk or...Whatever?"Her suggestions were a little weak.
She laughed softly.

"Yep. Cerbs is going to be a good little guard for me again." He said beckoning the dog over so he could pet him. The right head tried to lick at his hand when he went to pet it. A dog with three very different personalities, charming really.
Focusing on her, he frowned. " What are you thinking about?" It was never a good question, but she seemed a bit upset over the simple fact that Cerbie would have to go back to being a good little watch dog. And since he didn't like it when she was upset, he decided to question it in hopes that he would be able to help.
The soft moan was more than enough to make him want to continue even more, and when he finally looked at her, he was hard pressed not to kiss her again. Making a display of themselves out where everyone could see was not sometihng he was fond of. No matter how badly he wanted to kiss her again and... He cleared his throat, looking away to let those thoughts die away.
He rolled his eyes, trying to hide the fact that he was happy as well. "Geez. You should see what I can get him to do for a honeycake." He stated, ignoring the way Cerberus perked up at the mention of the sweet. Although, it was nice to see her get so excited over such a trivial thing. He could only imagine how she would be if they had actually had kids. Somehow the thought was far more terrifying than spending quality time with Zeus and Demeter.
He laughed as well, not caring how pathetic the suggestions actually were. "Or, we can be super daring and try doing both. At the same time." He sounded a bit a patronizing, but that was just the way his humour went. No extremely funny jokes. Just a dry, sarcastic comment said at just the right time.

"That's not fair," was Persephone's response to his question as she rolled her eyes and let out a huff. That was so unfair. She watched him pet him and she couldn't help but smile. It was a sweet scene to her. Just about anything Hades did around her was sweet in her eyes. Persephone felt him kiss her again.
Her knees felt weak.
She'd been with her husband for eons and she still felt the same when he kissed her. Her knees felt weak and she felt warm. A while back Persephone had put two and two together and realized when little moans and whines made him kiss her again. Persephone tested it when he kissed her. "Mmm," she cooed quietly. Not caring if anyone was looking. her mother could have walked in and she wouldn't have cared.
Well, all right that wasn't true. She would care if her mother decided to show up because then she might get dragged off or something. Then her father would have to sort everything out again because he was the king of the gods and she hated it when her father showed up.
Her father tried to seduce her after she was married and no! She forced that memory away and hung onto Hades. She too knew the monster's love for honey cakes, she should have gotten those out instead of silly old Milk Bones.
Upon hearing his last suggestion she let out a gasp. Covering up her mouth the tiny goddess looked up at him and she shook her head. "Oh no!" covering up her mouth with a slender hand. "We can't that's just much too hard to do!" She was teasing him as well. Walking along side of him she pulled him along.

He nodded. It wasn't fair. It meant that he wouldn't have the joys of waking up to the beast licking him when Persephone was gone. Or lazing about doing nothing with his dog. Really he was going to miss their quality time, well aside form the licking. That was oddly messy. Still, he had been good company during all those months he was forced to spend without his wife.
A terrible girl that she was.
Hades wasn't ignorant to the fact that she seemed to know just what to do to drive him insane the best of ways, and he was certain that's what she had been trying to do moments ago. The soft cooing noise wasn't helping him keep up his prudish behaviour either. But he was the ruler of the underworld.
And as the ruler of the underworld the last thing he wanted was to be caught making out with his wife by one of the many ghosts. They talked and the occasional visitor from Olympus just might overhear those conversations and dear lord what a mess that would make.
He held his hands up in mock surrender. " I know, it's a wild idea, but I think we can do it." Behaving in such a childish manner was below him, but if he was to be honest with himself, he liked it a lot. Which was why he followed after her, doing his best to ignore Cerberus, who apparently didn't want to get left behind either.

She arched up against him.
Persephone knew what to do. What made him happy. What he didn't like. She knew what to do. Persephone's eyes closed as she held onto him. He was so sweet. So warm. He was so warm. The goddess glanced up at him her eyes half closed as she whispered after a moment or two. "Hades..."
Holding onto him she said after a moment or two. "Do I disgust you?" she asked aghast. "Or...Are you just shy around other people?" That could he it that he was embarrassed to be around her with other's watching. Persephone really didn't care because she loved him so much. And when she was feeling passionate she'd would practically attack her husband with amorous intentions.
There were only a couple of months left.
Sadness entered her heart and snaked its way through her. It was so unfair. She loved her mother but she felt that she wasn't allowed to love her husband. Just because her mother hated anything male didn't mean that she couldn't love Hades...
The brunette looked back at her "child". "Oh, we haven't forgotten about you, dearest. Mommy's just givin Daddy some lovin'."

Aphrodite herself couldn't be as tempting as his dear Persephone. And the way she said his name made him feel weak. He shouldn't give in and he wasn't going to. He had a strong will after all. And he was certain it would start working as soon as he gave in and kissed her. Which is exactly why he kissed her all over again.
It was a preventive strategy.
He gasped. How could she even ask such a thing. "Persephone, I love you. You could never disgust me." Oh course, when she actually managed to guess what was wrong with him, he went still. Man, he truly despised when she did that. Ducking his head, he stared at the ground. " I just find it odd." He muttered quietly. Sure he loved his wife more than anything else, but he didn't need the entire Underworld know that as well.
Hades nearly choked on the air he didn't need to breathe. "Don't say that to him! He doesn't need to know that." He whined as though Cerberus were some young child that would be tainted by such thoughts. Not that the slightly dumb look on Cerbie's face ever went away.

If Persephone knew that Hades thought that then she'd most definitely be flattered! She knew that he loved her but she never thought that he thought so highly of her. He was trying so hard to use all of his will power. She smirked and her eyes closed half way. Olive eyes filled with wonder watched him as she kissed him.
He even tasted sweet to her.
She read his actions and listened. It would have been sweet if he were to scuff his toe along the ground. Persephone asked, "Me?" Was she odd? "Or is it the big fierce keeper of the underworld being so lovey dovey with someone?" She knew that she was the only one he acted like that with. The two had their weak moments.
Persephone no longer wished Adonis to be around her, she had only kept him because he fascinated her, she never saw a mortal man with such beauty that rivaled her husband. Where he was she didn't know no did she care. And he with that Minthe character, it was probably her fault but she wasn't about to let him ruin their relationship. Besides, mint was nice and she would have probably turned herself into a plant sooner or later anyway. Nymphs had a nasty habit of doing things like that.
Persephone was sure that if the two were alive and could die then they'd love each other more than life itself. Upon being scolded for "assaulting Cerbie's virgin ears" she placed a hand over her chest. Fluttering her eyelashes towards him she let out a fake gasp.
"Oh! It's not as though I'm telling him anything!" she let out a huff and looked away from him. "Because I could tell him about what you like..." Tease. "Or I could go to the fields and tell someone." She drew small circles along his arm with caring fingers. "Or Mama." Yes, she called Demeter Mama.
She laughed, light as bells and dragged him along with her. Cerberus in tow.

And he would tell her sometime soon, when there weren't ghosts around or Cerberus staring at them with that innocent curiosity. Somewhere private where he can be as honest as he wanted to be with her. In the mean time he just continued to kiss her for another moment or two before creating some distance between them.
As soon as they were alone he would make up for all of this.
He rubbed at the back of his neck, still seeming oddly focused on the ground. How could he become a hopeless romantic around her was beyond him. "No, well, yes. But I like your oddness. But I don't want them thinking that..." He let the sentence die since it didn't sound right. Caring about the opinions on the dead seemed so foolish.
But he did because he had an image. One that had apparently lasted throughout the times. It seemed as though everyone thought of him as this cruel and evil ruler of the Underworld and they had every right too since it was absolutely right. Except for when she was around. With Persephone he became a love sick puppy wanting nothing more than to make her happy and to be around her. Oh it was just so disgustingly cute and it would mot certainly ruin his nice, dark and evil reputation.
And that idea had him going still. Cerberus was far too young to know such things. He tensed at the cruel thought of her telling anyone one of those ghosts. And when she mentioned Demeter? Oh it was marvelous. He clenched his jaw and to the trained eye it was clear to see how he had paled because of the thought.
Hearing her laugh broke the small spell of a fear that had over took him. "Why do you tease me like that? It's not funny." Mostly because he was the one being teased and he found no humour in that. Had it been anyone else, he probably would have laughed as well.

Persephone loved him. She loved him so much but she realized that he could be rather bashful around other people. He thought that his spotlessly gruesome reputation would be totally destroyed. She didn't quite mind that he was trying his best not to do anything naughty with her where people could see.
"You're an odd fellow, too," was her reply. She liked it that way. She liked him he was different then the other gods. He had nothing to prove. Her had nothing to fight over since he already had everything that he wanted. He was content with his position. All of the other gods seemed to always want more. They were gluttons for power.
She realized that he was a ruler and did have an image to maintain. Around her though she saw on the inside. She saw what no one else did. Intimate thoughts and feelings that no one else saw but her. It gave her this huge sense of pride.
"It is too funny," she nodded. She thought that it was funny and he was so easy to tease. He was gullible around her easily believing her because he loved her. She held power over the Lord of the Dead. She held power over one of the most reclusive gods.
"They've made a story about us," Persephone stated. "Well, it's based off us in many respects, dear...I found the book and you'll be getting it." He'd receive it because she wanted him to have something to remind him of herself.
She kissed him on the chin.

He smiled about the fact that she happened to think he was odd as well. It didn't make him feel slightly disgusted like it did when the other gods told him things like that. "Why thank you. It's nice to know you feel that way." He laughed as he rolled his eyes.
Everything about him was odd. He didn't much care to spend his time on Earth or Olympus. or did he actually bother talking with his family for the most part. Hades merely contented himself to his areas since there were more than enough people to talk to down there, even if they were all dead.
"It is not. It's mean and rude." Especially since there was nothing more rude than making him feel awkward. Letting people know what he liked about anything was a disgusting one. Ad even if he knew his wife would never do that, the mere thought of it all was just so terrible.
Chewing on his lower lip, he frowned. Somehow a story based off them didn't seem pleasant. " I'll be sure to read it then. Just, tell what it is so I have time to prepare myself?" Because he could never be too sure what it may be when it came to Persephone.
He kissed her on the mouth in return.

“No,” was her reply. She didn't think he was rude. He always made sure to put her first. That wasn't rude at all! Not to her anyway. He was sweet, caring, and kind. Cool and collected perhaps even a little stoic. It didn’t scare her anymore. He didn’t send frightened chills down her spine but those of joy and pleasure. There was never a cruel word to her even when she had been younger and upset with him for taking her away. Her captor wasn’t her enemy he was her lover instead.
How or when the iciness melted within her heart was beyond her. One day she opened up her eyes and Hades was more appealing to her than the handsome Apollo. During their first time together when he first took her away she finally saw that the lord of the dead wasn’t a monster. He was a clam and the pearl was his heart that was given to her to keep for eternity.
Which was a rather long time for immortals!
Persephone nodded to him and she glanced away from a moment almost as if she were shy about it. Shy that their fame was known beyond Greece and Rome. It was humbling to her that people had fallen in love with them instead of feared them. They were the story of a kidnapping, marriage, and gods. Whether the ending was happy or not always depended on the story teller however, Persephone believed that it was a happy midquel.
She could sense his apprehension with his kiss and she decided that she should give him a taste. “Once upon a time there was a girl.” That was how all good stories started aside from theirs of course. She traced along his jaw line and stroked at his hand pulling him along with her. Cerberus close behind of course.
“Who lived a rich and lavish life with her family but one day their riches were lost,” dainty sandaled feet stepped carefully along the river’s side. Occasionally, she’d look over her shoulder to make sure that she wasn’t going to step in the river. “Her father heard that a ship came in and that they might be able to get some money. Her sisters asked for the normal kings ransom but when he came to his favorite daughter he asked her what she wanted. A rose was her reply.”
All right it wasn’t too much like their story at first! In fact it sounded nothing like the beginning of her story. True, she lived a lavish life with her mother. However, the girl in the story didn’t have a mother and was adored by her father which she was not. It got more and more similar later on.
“He found out that all the goods had been ruined and in a melancholy manner he had to return home with no gifts for his daughters,” her voice ached with sorrow almost as though she were trying to bring the story to life for her husband. “Along the way he ran into a castle where he hoped to find some shelter. There were all sorts of grand meals, clothes, and even a bed laid out for the father so he welcomed himself to it. The next morning as he was leaving he saw a beautiful garden.” She kissed his fingers pausing for dramatic effect.
She moved gracefully like a well practiced ballerina. “There were all sorts of flowers there. Each of them lovely in their own right. But there were roses it looked like there were hundreds each different shades and hues all colorful and beautiful. He reached out to take one for his beloved daughter.” Now it started to show some similarities it wasn’t until the two main character’s met when things really started to be more and more like them.
“The moment the rose and the stem snapped a terrible beast jumped. Those who saw him were afraid for they didn’t understand,” she placed her hand over his chest. “What was in here…” She kissed him again. “You’ll have to read the rest.”
