San Francisco was a nice little place. A sunny, happy place hidden in mist and smog. So many people, so much fun and things to do. Love of all kinds were everywhere to say that it wasn't exactly what the town was known for. And Hades was casually relaxing amongst all of it. Sitting at some park near the Eploratorium, he read a book, a small radio next to him going on about someone trying to just from the Bay Bridge. And somehow that brought a smile to his face.
He wasn't like Eris; the simple chaos it had caused gave him no pleasure. Just because the man had been holding up traffic for at least an hour meant nothing to him. what he was excited about was the same thing everyone else was. Would the guy jump or wouldn't he? Personally, he was rooting for a good jumper. They were always interesting. Them and the suicidal ones.
Turning the page of his book, he looked up to see a young man giving a very curious look. It was much like the one Persephone gave him. And with that realization, he looked back to his book quickly, a faint blush coming to appear on his face. It would be just his luck to attract attention. Once again looking like nothing special in his faded black jeans and silk red shirt was doing nothing.
But the other male was quickly forgotten as he heard what he had wanted. The poor fool had jumped. Hopefully it had been worth it and hopelessly quick. Rolling over, he changed it to a different station which happened to be reporting a crash on the freeway. Who knew it would be such a wonderful day?
Now to try and figure out who would be ruining that for him.

Sunny, not too hot, not too cold. Definition; It was a nice day. Though Ares wasn't one to really go out and roam about on such nice days. It really wasn't in his, semi-screwed up, nature. He'd prefer staying couped up all day and await word of some random war, he could just randomly jump up to and go to it, or something that could be going on out somewhere. And that would be just interesting enough for him. But, sadly, today was different. He happened to go out to San Francisco. Only on a whim of course. He was just in one of them moods to go out and check into some scenery. He doesn't do this often, mainly only when he is searching for some girl or something. But that was about it. He's just such a flirt.
Walking down through a park, it was his idea of nice. And usually he'd catch a good looking female or two. And of course his, good looks, always attracted them to him, so he really didn't have to look to hard into that one. With his hands slammed into the pockets of his jeans, wearing a dark blue shirt with some crazy design, as usual, on it. This was Ares' casual look, well sometimes he dresses up nice, but that is a different story for another day. But to make it even more simple. Ares looked good, and was out in the park, on a nice day. It couldn't be anymore simpler than that.
His hair was kinda messy looking, more so than usual, but either way it didn't look too bad. He had his sun glasses on, and inspected just about every female that happened to walk by him. But this one in particular, caught his eye. She was with a group of friends, and of course they were all cute too, but his eye was on the one in the middle of the three. She was a brunette with hair that cascaded in curls down to the middle of her back and a pair of sunglasses that rested upon her head.Though, she was tall, slender, wearing a white tank top and a tan skirt with small flowers stitched into it."Lovely, can't get much better than that today." A dark smile lit his lips as he eyed the female.
Casually walking over to her as she was sitting upon a bench between her other two friends. Taking off his sunglasses, his brown eyes still glued to her as he approached, he kept his smile upon his face. As he drew near enough, the ladies have caught sight of him and started whispering to one another. That just only made him smile even wider. Though, now close enough, he stopped in his steps, and gave a handsome smile, and meet his brown eyes with all three of them."Hello ladies." He spoke in a calm tone, though taking a mere pause to admire the other two females, other than the one he was before, they were cute as well. Why is it that all the cute ones congregate with one another He sighed inwardly, and then continued on with his last statement."How are you ladies doing on this fine day?" They all smiled at him, and nodded. He just took that as, woman speak when they'd see a cute guy, it was a"We're fine, thanks for asking". He had seen it plenty of times before.
Though, aside from watching the women before him. He let his eyes wander around a moment at the others around him. And he spotted someone who looked familiar, a little too. . Familiar. As he looked harder, he figured of who it could be. None other than Hades of course. Just there with some book in hand, and with a radio by his side. What a coincidence to be seeing him here as well. Knowing him, he was probably listening to the radio for some random things, who doesn't now a days?
His eyes jumped back to the females, and gave an apologetic look. Before thinking of an excuse,"Sorry ladies, maybe another day." With that, he turned on heel, and headed right toward Hades. Leaving the women to quarrel among themselves about how rude that was. But, he was a handsome one, and he liked women. A lot at that. He could just find another one to charm later on.
As he walked away, he placed his sunglasses back on, and walked right to the side of Hades.Though he had nothing against him in the least, it was just odd for him to see his uncle at the same place as him.
It wasn't too long before he was standing right beside him. Sitting down next to him, he stared off across to the opposite side of them, and allowed his dark smirk leave his face.He quietly waited for Hades to realize it was Ares sitting there. He was a patient guy. . . Kinda. . . Not really. . Okay, he wasn't patient all the time, but you have to give him some credit here. "So, what could one like yourself, be up to, in a place like this?" His voice calm and questionable. And as soon as he finished his question, he turned to look at him, and raised an eyebrow. .
((OOC: That, was. . Horrible. . sorry. But I wanted to at least get some posting in sometime.))

This was why he like California so much. So much violence and problems and horrible drivers. He'd be shocked if he managed to stay there a week without seeing some kind of car accident after waiting in traffic for at least a good hour. Because the people of California were probably as sick as him. Starting up bumper to bumper traffic just to see that the front end of someone's car was somehow wedged between the road dividers and the bottom of someone else's car. Not to mention all the raving loons who thought running into traffic was bright. They needed their attention too.
Still, he had a book to read. Nothing particularly interesting. Just the wonderful tale of Hamlet. It was a confusing and rather sordid story, but it gave him his amusement. Though, not as much as actually seeing it preformed. Oh what a joy that had been. And just like that Hades was lost in his own thoughts of the past. Thoughts of Shakespeare and the plague filling his thoughts. Because that had been his favourite time in history. So many helpless, souls arriving each day after being curse with the disease. It was enough to make him start humming ring around the rosies, not that he noticed.
Of course a certain voice cut through those thoughts rather quickly. Closing his eyes, he sighed, mentally preparing himself to turn down some poor guy. "I'm reading a book and I'm..." He trailed off when he looked to see it was Ares. Sitting up, he turned to face the other god, looking him over. Satisfied, he chuckled softly to himself.
"I though you were some guy trying to pick me up. Again." He said, adding the last part with a slight frown. And hopefully, he wasn't because that would certainly make things very awkward. Not that he didn't like his nephew, he did. But he liked him as a friend and nothing more.
So, drumming his fingers across the top of the book in his lap, he asked," What brings you here? San Fran isn't exactly the violent type of place." To many different types of love and rainbows around to be angry in such a town. If anything it was a place you went to get away from all those angry people whose throats you wanted so desperately to rip out. Not that Hades felt that way about anyone, besides Zeus.

A dark smirk lit his face. He was slightly amused by his uncles reaction at first. But the amusement soon faded off when he heard that Hades though Ares was some guy trying to pick him up. It was then that creepy thoughts ran through his mind. Thought’s he thought he’d never EVER think of, but sadly, it happened. And it just sent a chill down his spine, which literally made him shiver outwardly a bit. But hey, he’d possibly think the same thing if he were just sitting there, mind distracted, and some random person just came up to him and started talking like he knew him. But, none other than him would pass up the chance to try and creep someone out. Which mostly always turned out to turn back on him, then creep him out. Sadly, he was just bad at that.
Removing his sun glasses once more, his dark smirk returned once again as he met eyes with Hades.” It’s sad you know . . . ” He paused to gather his thoughts a moment, and tried to figure out a way to put all of what he wanted to say toward Hades’ reaction of Ares appearing so suddenly. And what is more important, which it had to make at least some bit of sense. Looking away, and leaning back a bit in a relaxed position, he chuckled darkly, and found the muse to continue what he was going to say, “ And you’re one to speak. With the look you just gave me at the end of your statement, you almost seemed sad that I wasn’t trying to pick you up.” He laughed a bit, he thought it was funny, but seeing as to how he usually took things too far, he wouldn’t be surprised if Hades were to get angry with him for that comment.” But, lucky for you. I’m not here to pick you up or anything. We just happened to be in the same place at the same time. That is all. I’m more of a roué, and not the other way around. That would be, a little . . . Awkward if I do say so myself.” And that was nothing but the truth on Ares’ end. In no way, was he all for men.
But rather than his question being answered, Hades had asked his own. Of course, it was very unlikely for Ares to be in such a non-chaotic area. But, desperate times calls for desperate measures. He was just down right, all out, bored. Besides, Eris has been lacking lately in causing some turmoil for him, which left him with nothing better to do. Which meant, he was left to roam between realms.”What am I doing here you ask? Well simple.”He shrugged, and placed his left elbow on his left knee and supported his head with his hand, and gave Hades nothing but his full attention.” Olympus has been boring lately. Eris has ceased in creating some sort of trouble lately. And it leaves me with nothing more to do, than travel around, and look for something to do. Which, requires effort. And it has its ups and downs.” He shrugged, and sighed.
It was true though. Lifting his head from his hand, he sat straighter, and shrugged once more. Putting some though into things for once, he continued on.”I’m more likely out here on a whim. And I happened to spot you. So, I decided to come over and have a chat with you. Seeing as the last time we have spoken, seems to be ages ago.” Which was true. He wasn’t so fond of carrying conversations out too long with people, especially family. Maybe once in a great while, but that was it. He found it boring and trouble some at times. And found out that it also sometimes creates some trouble between his self being and whomever he was speaking to. Don’t get him wrong or anything. It was fun to get people mad at times, but sometimes as of late, it just wasn’t as fun. And besides, he nearly could get anyone to talk to him, but seeing as far as he’d rather not talk to Zeus, he doesn’t even deserve the title of father to him, so he just refers to him as Zeus, or many others. So that was the least of his problems really. Despite his desperate efforts to actually go and find something to do himself. He actually made nearly two successful attempts at doing so. Which in his case, was a record. Usually he just relied on Eris to do all the work of causing chaos for him. Which was simple to do yes, but always fun? Nearly enough. But often it gets boring just sitting around and waiting. And for the heaven’s sake, he wouldn’t go causing trouble around Athena, just for him to fail miserably for a third time before her. How embarrassing for him. At the end of that thought, he turned a little pale, but not enough to be too noticeable. Though he did learn. Don’t get too cocky in battle, especially around Athena. But when on the field, slaughtering whomever step in his way, of course that thought never dares to trail across his mind. Only the thought of seeing the blood, and the sweet sounds of battle cries, and sweet smell of blood mixed with bone and sinew. But any who, it’s just the face that Athena was a touchy subject for him.
Running a hand through his hair, and giving a quick yawn, it was still too early for Ares. Giving the top of his head a good scratch or two, he ended his yawn with a quick stretch and looked back across the horizon. Shaking his head a little bit, he closed his eyes.” So, how is the wife? Business? Basically everything on your end.” Giving a slight chuckle, he didn’t know where to start quite honestly, he just needed some sort of conversation. Though easily he could bring up any topic of choice about violence and such, but he was just curious was all. And he knew Hades wasn’t the type like himself, all for blood and gore.

Hades ignored the shiver figuring it didn't concern one bit. Perking up a bit when the other started to speak, he tried not to look disappointed when Ares stopped. A conversationalist wasn't something he would peg Ares as for good reason. But then the boy was trying it again, and yes he occasionally thought of Ares as a boy. Nothing particularly personal, just the fact that he was older. He at least had the decency not to voice such thoughts, unlike when he was around Zeus. Smiling at the comment, he started to shake his head before leaning closer to him. "If I really wanted that kind of company, I would have taken the other offers I received today." He stated, casually looking off toward the young man who had been checking him out. He looked Ares over and nodded in agreement. "Yes, it would be awkward, especially considering the fact that you're not my type. No offense." Of course this was all said in jest since Hades didn't particularly care for the idea of doing anyone but his wife.
Scoffing at the answer, he shook his head. San Francisco didn't deserve such torture. Not that he didn't trust his nephew, but dear Zeus. It just didn't work out. San Fran was a happy place where people could openly be who they were and Ares was... Ares. Clearing his throat, he started to drum his fingers in a different pattern against the book. "We really should fix that. I rather like it when you're off being the good little god of war." People died when Ares fought and it could even be rather amusing to watch. All the gore and bloodshed, it was rather nice for the first few minutes. It was only once all the bodies started to pile up did things get a bit dull. "But if it helps, someone jumped off the bridge." He offered, hoping it might amuse Ares as well.
Raising one leg, he rested his chin on his knee, arms wrapping around his leg. "It has been a rather long time since we last spoke." Not that he tried to remember all that much. His mind was rather occupied on the sun that seemed to get a little brighter. Glancing up at it, he frowned, mentally cursing Apollo before turning his attentions back to Ares. Call it vanity, but Hades was rather concerned for his nice pale skin; the main concern being that he might actually get some colour from staying out in the sun for too long. "I should have found a spot in the shade." He muttered to himself since there were quite a few trees that most seemed to avoid in favour of sitting int he sun. the poor fools. But that would involve stopping everything to move and that wasn't worth it.
Snapping out of his revelries, he gave the other a confused look as he tried to figure out what had been said. "Persephone is fine. Doesn't want to go back to her mother this Spring, but I'm not sure how well that will work." Not that he wouldn't try to help her in that matter, but Ares didn't need to know that. Or anything more than what polite conversation would require. "And the Underworld is good, if not a little slow." Which could simply be proven by the fact that he was there. If everything had been going at the nice steady order it used to he'd be down there handling the great number of people who died each day. "Cerberus has certainly become a little too used to not having to do anything and I, myself, am perfectly fine."

A good little God of War, heh
Inwardly he laughed at the comment, and smiled on the outside. To him, it was just. . . Funny. Taking a break from watching for war and what not, happened to be a good idea. To relax once in a while was good on his end. Especially from what he was hearing today. Though tomorrow for him, everything would change, he probably wouldn't be in such of a good mood as he is today. But hey, time can only tell.
His eyes shot back over to Hades as the,"If I really wanted that kind of company, I would have taken the other offers I received today." Comment came out. He knew it was coming, and of course, he had something to say, though. It may or may not be so funny."Really now? That saddens me. . . Seeing as how adorable(YES I SAID IT >=3) I am and how. . . Not so adorable as he is. . ." He tried to do the female type voice, but, well yeah. . He just couldn't pull it off. He sounded more like a goose with strept throat, and it just wasn't him. . All too well. Pausing a moment, he laughed as he looked at the guy,"And the thing over there, is a sad excuse for a man. He looks like he was born a female, had a sex change, and got dressed by his mother, in her closet today. . . " He rolled his eyes at the figure, and sighed.
As the mentioning of someone jumping off the bridge was heard, all attention was on Hades."Oh, really now." Slightly intrigued, but he knew it was just some sad form of suicide that probably had no meaning. The person was probably dumped, divorced, or something and they couldn't handle it like any other normal human being that used to be around them. Though one person jumping wasn't really good enough to suit his need of bloodshed or violence. It would take a whole mass of people jumping for him to be interested in getting the full detail on that one.
Slight boredom struck Ares, and he had turned to look over his shoulder, and seen that the female was still sitting there. She was cute, and almost everything that Ares looked for in a woman (Well, right now anyways) looks wise. Personality, he didn't know whether she was crazy or not. Not that it really mattered to him. But, for now, despite her good looks, he was still one for Aphrodite for now. Looking away, his attention went back to Hades as his questions were answered.
He eyed his uncle directly in the eyes, and nodded at the response, it was good enough to fill his need for conversation for now."Well if sounds like you have your hands as full as usual." Giving a light smirk, he shook his head, and then stood up. Brushing debris off of him, and put his sun glasses back on."Well, looks like you're getting a bit too much of the sun. Don't want that, now, do we?" He knew Hades hated color on his pale skin, it was more of his "trademark" if you will, for pale skin." We could move if you'd like." He knew he had the slight desire, just by the comment he made about he should of picked a spot in the shade. And Ares didn't mind at all. Mainly, Ares wanted to move, to obstruct his view of the female sitting not too far behind him.

Closing his eyes, he smiled as he shook his head. Even the smallest of chuckles managed to escape him in the process. This was not a conversation he would have ever dreamed of having with anyone, let alone Ares. "Ares, if I ever decide to cheat on my wife with someone, you will be my first choice. I promise." He said with all seriousness. After all, the guy seemed rather distraught that he was picking some mortal over him in metaphorical manner. Looking back off to said mortal, he chuckled and even waved a bit awkwardly when the guy looked at him. "Besides, the boy doesn't seem so bad. Just a bit young." He muttered when the guy looked away nervously.
"Yes. He managed to hold up traffic for quite a few hours before doing so." Because no one would have cared as much if there hadn't been people who were going to be late to work because of it. A sad, but true little fact of such a high paced world. Yet another reason he liked the Underworld. It was slow and relaxed and no one ever really left with out some very serious divine intervention and a damn good reason since the two weren't mutually inclusive.
Following Ares' gaze to see what had caught his attention, he smiled when he noticed it was a girl. He shouldn't have been surprised, but part of him was. Not that the young lady wasn't gorgeous, because she was in a way. Really not his type, but he was also happily married. Ares just might...Well Ares most likely did like the girl on some level. Either way, he was snapped out of his thoughts when Ares moved to look at him once again.
"Full enough. Though, there's always room for more down there." He said with a slight smirk. The beautiful thing about the Underworld was that there was always room for more.Hades looked at his hand as though he was inspecting it for any signs that he may have ruined his pale. Certainly if it had been tarnished, Apollo would be uselessly bitched at for such a travesty. "I suppose that would be best. A tan doesn't exactly look well in the underworld." Grabbing his book, he nodded and made to stand. He dusted himself off and looked around for a nice area in the shade away from anyone who might want to check him out for some reason. [/center]
