A heavy mist would come across the city that day thanks to a certain sea god who had only this morning, played a private concert near the west minister clock tower, the chimes of the legendary Big Ben, making perfect cover for the haunting sounds that emanated from the relic, he held tightly in hand. Ah yes London was beautiful when cloaked in the mysterious sea mist and did make the atmosphere somewhat more pleasant for the visiting demi-god, the moisture in the air a welcome change from the dry winter air.
His walk and exploration had taken him all across the city, enjoying the sights and sounds as he walked among the mortals as they came and went about the streets. So far he had been enjoying his trip through London, but would not allow himself to leave until he saw the last remaining ruins of the old Crystal Palace, which at one time stood as the pinnacle of Victorian science, having displayed what they saw as the greatest achievements of their time and felt could rival the works of Galileo and Einstein.
He trekked through the old park, where nature would be beautifully preserved to represent the primeval world. A time when Gaia was wild and untamed, when colossal animals ruled the earth and way before the mortals who had made themselves so comfortable as they made the world their own in the absence of the 'terrible reptiles'
The young god was enjoying the scenery and the interesting Victorian interpretations of the primeval monsters that roamed the landscape. Incarnated in these old statues by sculptors and scientists, dinosaurs of all types stood towering like mighty dragons, displaying their might and majesty before a few mortals who tended to gasp with reverence. Then above the lake would soar mighty reptile birds fighting epic, earth shattering battles with the monsters of the deep. Triton would stand there lazily from all the walking he had done, his dark hazel gaze looking out into the primal lake as he lean against the bridge for support.
Birds would chatter among themselves, the fish would swim by the monsters as they stood still, frozen forever in a clash for dominance of this primal pond. They were really funny creatures the dinosaurs and reptiles of long ago and Triton could relate with the mighty beasts. It seems like a lot could happen in a mere few million years, very much like the monsters of this park, it seemed like yesterday he was feared and considered to be above all life on this planet, watching as all life revered and feared him. Then only to dissappear, to watch as his name and legacy became a legend, a fairy tale to be whispered among mortals. Very much like the dinosaurs, who became a simple myth to become interpeted and examined by scientists, in the process being decimated and with so much study and research, people began to forget they were real. Triton always believed the fates had a good sense of humor and loved to see the mighty fall, the Titans, the dinosaurs, the immortals of mount Olympus, really all funny when thinking about it
(Sorry wasn't feeling good at the time and thanks to these damn allergies, I'm still not at top of my game)
