He grunted at the sudden weight against his back. Grabbing onto her legs out of pure instinct, he kept walking, actually intending to do some kind of work with or without her around. "I'm not mad." It was a lie, but he felt the urge to say it. Turning to look at her as best he could, he glared since he didn't understand how he could be a fun person to tease.
He rolled his eyes at the nickname, hoping that it wouldn't stick. "Though I appreciate the effort, you lack the right stuff to please me from back there." He laughed, a smile appearing just to go along with it. But to make up for that fact, he ran his hand along his hand along her leg.

"Oh but I have everything to please you, dear Beast," she whispered into him as she closed her eyes. Persephone hung along him as she felt him stroke at her leg. He was mad she knew it. He was made at her. Her eyebrows knit together and she closed her eyes after a moment and she looked away and her cheek was up against him her eyes closed happily.
He smiled and she smiled back at him. Persephone sighed happily as she hung along him and the goddess sighed, "I don't want to go." She wrapped her arms around him tighter. "She won't make me ad I won't be leaving you need me you're going to be stressed out and someone's going to have to soothe that. And it won't be Cerbie since you'll be training him."
Mother would have to learn how to do without her.
Persephone loved her mother dearly but she needed to live her own life. She was far too old to be stuck with her mother. She was eons old! Persephone nibbled on his ear. "I won't go, Hades. This year I won't go. If mother wants to see me she'll have to come here." The Spring Maiden's voice was stern and she snuggled into him as she continued to ramble on.
"I ache for you when I leave Hades. I love Mama I do but I love you just as much." Well, she didn't love him like a mother but she loved him just the same! Persephone leaned into him with a moan her legs tighter around him.
"I'm staying."

"Not from back there you don't," he muttered, just to have the last word. He listened to the nice quiet of everything until she started speaking again and focused on her. Chewing on his lower lip, he nodded to show that she had his attention and in agreement. He wasn't looking forward to the next time she was away, but he had accepted it long ago.
Stopping in his tracks, he turned to look at her. There was a slight frown on his face due to what he was thinking about. "Persephone, I'll try to sort things out, but if it doesn't work out I want you to go back to your mother." He said, meaning every word of it.
Not that he didn't love his wife, but he wasn't about to risk screwing everything up even more by having her stay with him. He would do his best to keep her with him though. No matter who it took to help him convince Demeter, he would do it because there was nothing he really wanted more than to have his wife around for more than the short amount of time each year.
"And I can always visit you. I mean, I don't have to stay here in the Spring." He offered, since it was an easy alternative. "And perhaps on those visit I can ease that aching of yours." He squeezed her leg, a smirk on his face since innocence was out of his reach.

"Fine then I can pleasure myself! Who needs that? I just need your back," she teased him. She mimicked the noises from not to long ago. Little moans, mews, pants, and cries. She was annoying him she knew it and she knew that there would be Hell to pay later. She rocked along him her ankles crossed across his stomach. "Since you're so mean to me...I guess I'll have to make do with what I have. Meanie." He was mean? He was mean! He wasn't the one that stole her partner's clothes and scampered off with them to leave him to be left alone and naked...
"Back home with Mama?" she questioned as she stopped her pestering. Immediately, she stilled and leaned her cheek up against his. Back with her mother? She knew that she wasn't disgusting. She knew that he wasn't having an affair. She knew that he loved every moment with her. Was it perhaps absence made the heart fonder and he liked the reunion they had every year.
"She won't let me stay," Persephone realized sadly as she looked down at the ground as she hung upon him. Her eyes half closed as she sighed and she kissed him on the cheek. She knew that her mother was possessive and hated Hades with a passion. Hades was Demeter's least favorite god she was sure of it.
Wait. Hold the phone. He'd visit her! He'd actually leave the Underworld and visit and perhaps even face the wrath of her mother to visit her! She felt giddy like a school girl. Her hold upon his neck tightened as she hugged him best she could from her position. Her voice was jovial. "Oh, Hades." She kissed along his cheek. How could he walk with her bothering him so much? "Forget what I said you're not a total meanie, dear dear beast."

All Hades did was nod in reply. Really, who else would she be going to up on Earth? Scratch that. It wasn't a pleasant thought since she really could have been with anyone. Not that he didn't trust her, but he wasn't so naive to believe that she would always been faithful. Nothing personal, it was just one of those insecurities that wouldn't go away, no matter how hard he tried.
He shook his head, already knowing that Demeter wouldn't do such a thing. They disliked each other with a passion. Even to see them together a person probably wouldn't think they were anything more than the worst of enemies, let alone brother and sister. But neither of them seemed to mind overly much about their hatred for each other either.
One day, probably decades from then, e would regret making the promise. For now though, he was perfectly happy because of her. He even laughed when she declared he wasn't a total meanie. And since she was happy once more he could continue on his way to nowhere in particular since he wasn't really sure where he was going any more. "Don't act so happy. I might only appear to talk and nothing more." Lies, every bit of it. Somehow, simply talking to his fair bride became beyond his reach. He could barely stand to be around her without kissing or touching her.

"I can use Auntie Hera as my cover," Persephone said thoughtfully. Looking up after a moment or two. The tiny girl chewed upon her lower lip as she licked her lips and she smiled at Hades. "I can say that I'll be visiting dear Auntie Hear." then go see her husband. Oh. that was a good idea. A very good idea. She'd just have to make sure that Mama wouldn't want to come as well.
It would be nice if her mother and husband could get along with each other just for a little while! Just for her. They both loved her why couldn't they make her happy? Her cheeks puffed out at that thought. They both had to be so stubborn it was ridiculous!
For a moment she wondered where they were heading however, she didn't question it. She had bother Hades enough, she teased him for quite a long time and she knew that he would tire of it soon enough. Persistently asked questions, pseudo amorous intentions, and the like weren't used often on him.
"Just to talk? What about?" she asked after a moment with a smile. Liar. He couldn't lie to her she saw right through him. She saw right through him. Persephone giggled at him. "Oh, all right I suppose we can just talk. I mean...I'm sure you can manage yourself for such a short time..."

"Just be careful. I wouldn't want you to get caught." He warned, being the voice of reason yet again. He thought about the plan himself and frowned. He could see a number of things wrong with the plan seeing how he was quite the pessimist. "I mean, if she found up what you were really doing, just think f the hell she would cause."
He'd just as willingly praise Zeus as the smartest, greatest, most monogamous god before he openly tried to make amends with Demeter. He was cordial to the woman when Persephone was around and that was more than enough for him. The way he saw it, she was the one to ruin everything so she should have been the one to apologize.
Stopping by the side of Styx, he just stared into it. It was good enough place to stop. Not that it was anything particularly special, but it was better than walking all the way to his own home. Patting her leg as a signal for her to get off him, he looked around.
There were a number of things that could be talked about, not that he could think of a single one. "The sky. I hear that it is a very lovely shade of blue." He said with a decisive nod. He would go out of his way to talk about the sky with her. And perhaps after that, he would skewer himself on something sharp and pointy because he'd have to be insane to do either. [/center]

"Have I ever been careless?" was her reply. Yes. Yes, she had. Getting captured by the lord of the dead was careless. Wandering off from the safety of the other's had been careless. Eating those lovely pomegranate seeds was careless. Persephone didn't seem to realize that though she thought she was extremely responsible and that she didn't do too many things that were bad.
Persephone listened to him about what her mother would do. She could only imagine what would happen to her dear husband. The little lady closed her eyes and she sighed with a tiny smile as she slowly dropped from her husband. Teasingly, she shimmied along his back rubbing along him. He was so warm and she had to do her best to keep herself from pounding on him and using her poor unsuspecting husband. Poor Hades.
Her feet beat upon the ground and she brushed her dress off.
When he spoke up she eyed her husband with an olive colored gaze as her plump lips parted. Dark colored hair tumbled over her shoulder as she looked up, "The sky?" The sky? He was talking about to sky. Thin eyebrows furrowed together. Strange conversation.
"When did you see the sky?" she questioned. Her lips were drawn into a smile.

He gave a her a blank stare. How could she even ask a question like that. The mere fact that she was there was because she was careless. Rolling his eyes, he snorted. "If you aren't careless, Cerberus is a great guard dog." He said, sugar coating his no. Hopefully it would serve as a good way of answering honestly without being rather blunt and mean. Because they both knew that the dog, while cute, wasn't exactly the best of guard dogs, even when Cerberus was in his prime.
Shuddering as she got off him, he sighed. Everything she did seemed to be in some effort to tease him. If he didn't like it so much, he would have been thoroughly upset and complained. As it were, he was doing his best not to turn around and kiss here.
Hades nodded, quite serious about the discussion of the sky. He crossed his arms over his chest, drumming his fingers against his arm. "Awhile ago. Still, I know what it looks like." He said, pretending to be hurt that she could even ask a question like that.

"I think that he's a great guard dog, Hades," her hands were on her full hips and she tilted her chin up to watch him. Eyes closed half way as she listened to him. Why did he think that? it was so unfair. He was so mean. The young woman tilted her chin up as she bat her eyes at him.
Persephone thought he was an excellent dog.
"Well, then that means you dunno what it looks like today. Perhaps it's dark or raining?" She asked him after a moment as she tapped her tiny feet along the ground. Looking back over to Hades as she smield up at him. He was such a sweetheart.
Persephone reached up and she stroked along his arm and she leaned up against him looking back out to the River Styx. Persephone sighed into him happily. Sweet. Sweet...
Full lips kissed his arm as her eyelashes fluttered along his arm. "Mine," he was hers. All of hers! All hers. Persephone kissed him again along the arm. "Mine. Mine. Mine."

"But you also think that you're not careless." He pointed out with a shrug. YEs, now he was being mean and he could admit that. Sometimes it took a harsh talking to to get people to realize that they were quite wrong. Cupping her face, he smiled. "I love you, honestly I do, but you are quite careless with certain things."
Like not getting kidnapped to the Underworld.
He frowned because she did have a point. "I don't think I want to be around when it's raining." He said after a minute of thinking it over. Not that Hades often liked to go out, but doing so when it was raining could put a damper on things.
His fingers stopped moving once she kissed his arm. Smiling at what she was saying, he shook his head. Well wasn't she just possessive. "Yes I'm all yours." He conceded. Looking away with a contented sigh, he smirked. "But that's mostly because you got rid of Minthe."
Yes, it was a mean thing to say, but words were one of the few things he had to keep himself ion control. It was far too soon to give into his urges once more and take her where they were.

"So?"
What was wrong with that? The woman looked up at him as she smiled softly up at him. She chewed upon her lower lip as she smiled into him. The younger of the two learned into his hand. So warm and all hers. She reached up and put her hands over his. Tiny pale hands dwarfed by his own. "My Rich one." She used one of his older names. "The Unseen that's for my eyes only." She knew he hadn't been called that for...How long was it?
"But the rains beautiful," Persephone backed away from him and she closed her eyes. Her hands were over her head and she swayed her full hips side to side. "It makes the trees dance. And the flowers and the grasses." Her fingers were along her palms she stretched out as she felt her hair twirl along her back. "And the winds like you and then it's loud and stormy." Like him? "Just like you. But Zeus lights up the sky and Hephaestus makes the noises and the earth's damp and moving..." She rocked side to side her eyes closed and eyebrows furrowed. "Bam! Bam! Bam!" Her body moved every time she moved her body back and forth side to side. Her body was mimicking the storm the way the Earth reacted to it.
She was sure that he wouldn't like her to be seen by anyone else at the moment or a couple moments before! "Minthe and Leuce...And Adonis...And then there was that one time that Zeus decided his daughter looked pretty."
She was sure that they were the only deities that were faithful with each other despite the fact they'd get little fascinations with the occasional nymph, deity, or mortal. There were stories about her and Zeus that mortals made up along with Heracles. And then Hermes. All stories. She would never cheat on her Hades only out of fear for the person she'd be cheating with! None of them had been touched. She hadn't touched Adonis. She was just fascinated by the mortal she couldn't stand for him to be around her. Aphrodite could keep him.
Before her Hades before she knew who he really was she remembered her mother driving away suitors. Hermes, Ares, Apollo, and Hephaestus. She was relieved that Hades hadn't seeked out her mother in order to ask for her hand. She was sure Demeter would rather have her killed {If that had been possible} then given her sunshine to the lord of the dead.
"We were different people back then, Hades," she lowered her arms. There was that smile on her face.

Hades merely shrugged, forgetting why her being so careless was even a concern. Smiling softly at her, he cocked his head to the side curiously when she called him by his older names. It was a rather weird thing to hear since it had quite literally been centuries since anyone had dared call him that to his face. Licking his lips, he left the parted. His mouth would moved every now and them with a certain thought because for the most part he just remained silent.
Hesitating, he slowly dropped his hand back to his side. His gaze was focused rather intently on her as she moved about. He remained perfectly quiet, hands crossing over his chest once more as he narrowed his eyes at the fact that the wind was supposedly like him. Shifting his weight to his other leg as he stood there watching her, he rolled his eyes at the mention of Zeus. Not that he disagreed, it was just that Zeus just annoyed him for some reason he couldn't quite name. "Yes, but rain is also wet and it only seems to rain when I wear something nice. And it's no fun wandering about in wet clothes." He pointed out, for that was all the reason he need to hate the rain.
No, he had made the brilliant mistake of asking Zeus of all people if he could marry Persephone. The non answer he got in return was all that he needed in the end since his brother had all but ignored the question. Thankfully he was more than willing to take the situation into his own hands, regardless of what Persephone or Demeter had wanted.
Yet despite that, he didn't seem to put as much stock into their odd marriage as Persephone did. Not that he didn't care as much, he did, but the occasional wave of guilt would occasionally take him over. Like with that Adonis fellow. Sure he had been angry that his wife even paid attention to the man, but he didn't do anything about it out of a certain guilt for why she was his wife. Then there was the whole Minthe thing. Unlike his brother Zeus, he wouldn't deny what his intentions were concerning the nymph. A bout of lust had come over him with her and he swore he would never be so foolish again.
Sighing heavily, he nodded. Yes that was the perfect excuse for it all. "I suppose we were." He agreed as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Upon hearing him she giggled. Persephone watched her Hades and she nodded. "Yes...Well, how do you think I feel when I'm around you all day," she was easing him more and more. The young woman tilted her chin up as she poked him in the chest as her dark hair tumbled over her shoulder. Eyes were lidded half way.
The woman watched him as she chewed upon her lower lip and the young goddess as she watched him. The tiny deity reached up as she brushed at his hair with gentle and slender fingers. Paying him the attention that he both deserved and needed.
"We were all different, Hades," she added. The world of gods was gone. It was coming back. Would that mean everything would be like it had? She hoped not. It wasn't that she hated the way they were it was just that...
"Besides, I'm sure that you and I have made more than enough," she didn't kiss him despite the fact she wanted to so badly! "Atonement for each other." Her voice was low and sultry.

"I would think that you'd get bored." He said with a slight chuckle. It wasn't as though he was the most interesting of people. He was a calmer god and even his methods of revenge were passive aggressive at best. Rubbing the spot, she poked, he pouted and looked away. It was done both for the effect and to have a better chance of resisting temptation.
Hades wanted so desperately to kiss her, but having a good idea of where that would lead, he merely nodded before taking a step back. "We have been good to each other. I'm certain it will stay that way when things go back to normal." He said with a confident nod.
The reintroduction of deities to those mortals would definitely have some ill effects on some relationships. But he was more than confident that his wouldn't be one of those relationships because he and Persephone loved each other more than anything else.
